Imerys, a multinational minerals-based corporation sought to expand and update their processing operations by constructing their Genesis project adjacent to the existing mill building in Ludlow, VT. Imerys Talc is the world’s leading talc producer, used in paper, plastics, paint, rubber, cosmetics, ceramics, pharmaceuticals, animal feed and many other products.
The site, on a Ludlow mountainside, introduced design challenges to configure the new high-tech vertically integrated processing facility, within the footprint of an existing milling operation and maintain adequate access and circulation for industrial traffic. Design and Construction were carefully coordinated with all disciplines to maintain the processing operation while the new construction was underway.
