Entry level Civil Engineer or Engineering Technician
Enman Kesselring Consulting Engineers has an immediate opening for an entry level Civil Engineer or Engineering Technician, EI or PE, ASCE or BSCE. Vermont Class A and B Designers are welcome to apply.
We are a team of civil engineers who work with public and private sector clients on a wide range of project in the commercial, institutional, industrial, residential, and public sectors.
The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to customer service, professional written and verbal communication skills, and a desire to learn new skills. Familiarity with State of Vermont permit programs and regulations and prior experience is beneficial. On the job training will be available.
Responsibilities include:
- Technical Support to engineering staff,
- Field services including topographic surveys, field evaluations and construction phase observations,
- AutoCAD drafting,
- Performing standard civil engineering design, calculations, and quantity estimates under the supervision of an engineer,
- Preparation of various State and local permit applications.

- Bachelor’s or Associates Degree,

- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a dynamic environment,

- Sound understanding of civil engineering fundamentals,
- Relevant experience in civil / site design, utilities, and permitting,
- Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D software, HydroCAD, Microsoft Office suite,
Civil Engineer 5 to 10 years experience
Enman ● Kesselring Consulting Engineers seeks a motivated individual with Vermont Professional Engineering Registration in Civil Engineering, with strong professional, written, and verbal communication skills and a demonstrated ability to manage projects, and a commitment to customer service.
Responsibilities/expectations include:
- Management of general site civil projects for residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial projects.
- Design, permitting tasks, and construction administration for site development projects, including water supply, wastewater disposal, and stormwater management.
- Management of staff.
- Conduct field evaluations and construction phase observations.
- Perform standard civil engineering design calculations and quantity estimates.
- Prepare reports and preliminary concept designs.
- Willingness to perform office and field tasks.
Applicant Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program,
- Professional Registration in Vermont or ability to acquire within 6 months,
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills,
- Ability to collaborate positively with teammates,
- Ability to manage multiple tasks,
- Self-motivated with attention to detail, good time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines,
- Sound understanding of civil engineering fundamentals,
- Relevant experience in civil / site design, utilities, and permitting,
- Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D, HydroCAD, Microsoft Office suite,
- Proven skill in interacting with various disciplines: architects, attorneys, geotechnical, traffic, MEP, building trades, & others,
- Proven ability to maintain client relationships and build/ generate new ones,
- Experience negotiating and managing project scope and fees as well as risk management and financial accountability,
- Familiarization with Vermont’s Land Use Regulations including Water Supply, Wastewater Disposal, Stormwater, Stream Alterations, and Act 250.
